Hello! I'm Thomas Martin, the chef and founder of Thomas Martin Catering.

My culinary journey began uniquely at a campground in New Hampshire, where I decided to leave Appalachian State to pursue my true calling at culinary school. My career has since taken me through some of the best kitchens in Charleston and Charlotte, where I’ve soaked up every flavor and technique along the way.

Launching Thomas Martin Catering came from a desire to be more present for my daughter Ellie and to bring the same high-quality, flavorful meals I loved creating in restaurants directly into people’s homes. It's about combining the culinary freedom I cherish with the practicality needed in our daily lives.

​

My cooking style? It’s deeply influenced by my Southern upbringing and my Italian heritage, thanks to my mother’s roots. This blend shapes my signature dishes, like the robust Masaman Curry and the hearty, comforting lasagna that echoes my childhood.

​

Outside the kitchen, I’m an avid outdoorsman - whether it’s hiking, camping, or relaxing to some live music with a favorite IPA in hand from spots like Legion Brewing or Birdsong Brewery.
